Every Last Drop
A reusable shampoo bottle that help users maximize each and every drop of their shampoo product.Story
More than 552 million shampoo bottles end up on landfills every year.Problem
01.
The last 5% of shampoo especially in a pump bottle are not easily accessible.
02.
Not all parts of a shampoo bottle is recyclable.
03.
Shampoo bottles tend to be slippery in the shower area.

Solution
01.
A collapsable shampoo bottle squeeze every part of its body which naturally release all unreachable shampoo product.
02.
Design a reusable shampoo bottle and remove all non-recyclable parts.
03.
Increase the grip and one hand usability of shampoo bottles.

Users
73% of 20-40 years old adults are more willing to spend on sustainable products and experiment new products compared to other generations. The Current Market
Understand how marketing campaigns of current shampoo bottle brands affect its form.Mind Map
To assist on connecting the insights of shampoo bottle exploration.Ideation
Exploration on grip and one hand usability.Rapid Prototyping
The ideas were iterated and rapidly prototyped using pink foam. The diverge ideas of prototypes help converge the ideas with rounds of user tests.Round #2 Ideation
The first round of ideas did not solve a huge pain point of users (the sustainibility issue of current shampoo bottles).Prototype
Collapsable shampoo bottle that is made out of waterproof paper and shampoo dispenses when paper body folds downwards (pumps which are not recyclable will be eliminated).Feedback
Learnings from second round of user test.01.
A paper-based body would not be sustainable for constant force.
02.
The body of shampoo was uncomfortable to hold.
03.
Users hands were in an awkward position when reaching out for shampoo from the flat shampoo release area.
Design Details

New ideas created by combining user feedbacks and new design inspirations.Final Design
Brand Partnership
A potential brand partnership is planned when designing an identity for the product.I chose Aveeno because of its natural sourcing emphasis and green practices.
Results
01.Every Last Drop helps users reduce waste and reduce risks of bottle slipping.
02.
I had to repeat the ideation and iteration process more than usual due to realizing that the most important user problem was not solved. Through this experience, I learned the value of setting design criterias in the beginning of the design process.
Next Steps
01.Create a work-like prototype to conduct interactive user tests.
02.
Further explore on one hand usability.
